There's been some rumors flying around that I have pneumonia, and it's true. Thank you for everyone who has offered their concerns! *huggles* you're all awesome. I'm laying low and hopefully will feel better soon. I have a crappy immune system. >.< But it gives me a lot of time to do meaningless tasks, like the post below!

As many of you know (or have guessed) I practically live at my computer. Since my business and my hobby are both computer based, I have to stare at the same stuff every day. I figured it might be fun to take you behind the scenes a little and show you what my "world" looks like. XD I'd love to see your desktops and customizations as well! Post desktop screenshots in comments if you'd like. ^^ Also, feel free to ask any questions!
Oh my god I hate LJ sometimes. I can NOT get it to cut these pictures correctly. Just click the first one and scroll down. Ignore all the extra cuts. It was the only way to avoid clogging up your f-lists!

So the upper picture is pretty classic for me- my desk is a mess! I have little notes posted and left all over, and there's fandom stuff everywhere. Never buy a white mouse pad! I can't seem to clean it, no matter what I do! I need a new Reborn mouse pad. >.<;
The basics- iMac 21 1/2" screen, top of the line custom built (from when I worked at Apple), Harmon Kardon Soundsticks 2 as a sound system. There's this big fish bowl looking subwoofer in a cabinet under the desk. These are actually in the museum of modern art because they're so funky looking. They're touch sensitive as volume control and completely clear. The sound quality is amazing but it drives my roommate downstairs completely nuts since our walls are so thin. lol

I have 4 external hard drives that are mostly hidden, behind the desk, but you can see one behind the left hand speaker. They're used for rolling bootable backups every hour and to house my massive anime collection. One of the drives is wireless and also the wireless router for the house. Overall, there's aprox. 4TB of space available to me when you combine both internal and external store, about 3TB of which is full of my junk and scans and stuff. XD

This is my main desktop. I use part of the mac OS that allows me to have multiple desktops. You can tell which "space" I'm in up top. See the "1" in the uppermost bar near the right in a black box? You may have to click the pic to enlarge. That will change as we move through my land. lol This is "space 1" and where most of my goofing off, watching anime, reading doujinshi scans, talking to people and answering emails takes place. The desktop backgrounds rotate every few minutes.

I use Adium, which is a chat client that incorperates all of the other chat clients I use, such as Skype, AIM, MSN, ICQ, YIM, Gtalk, Facebook, and even twitter! I've blurred the names, since I don't want to get too personal without permission on my chat list. lol I love Adium because it allows me to fully customize it. Like the 7Men Zippo Hibari background on my buddy list? The second part of that program is the twitter feed and chat window, which are floating. It's always overlaying whatever I'm doing unless I ask it not to. That way I rarely miss anything! It also has a hibari background, because I can't help myself.

The ugly grey program next to my buddy list is Transmission. It's a bittorrent program. In the next space you can see the lower dock, and the upload and download tracker on it's icon. I torrent everything. >.<

Notice all the unread doujinshi folders all over my desktop? That's about as bad as it gets for clutter on there. They tend to build up when I've been busy. iTunes is always on in mini mode in the upper right. There's also a ticker in the very upper bar that keeps me updated on the track and artist info if iTunes is buried. There's all sorts of stuff in that top bar, like my backup system, what space I'm on, and a little program that keeps track of my upload and download speeds, CPU core temperatures percentage of the processing power I'm using. It's really useful when I start overloading the hell out of it. hehe

This is how the Adium screen floats. ^^

This is the second space, with the doc exposed. This is where most of my photoshop stuff takes place. I like to change icons, so most of them aren't original. All the blue dots at the very bottom indicate open programs. On the right of the divider are folders I use frequently and any minimized programs or screens I have going on.

This is the third space. I could have more, but I find I really only need the 3. This always has Bento up in full screen. Bento is a program that helps you keep track of stuff, and I use it for keeping tabs on the scanlation team. It tells me what status every project is in, who's working on it, and it's priority level. I've blurred it because there's some personal information from members of my team up there that I don't have permission to post.

In the upper right I've caught a "growl". Growl is a program that pops up over top of whatever I'm doing and tells me what's going on behind the scenes. For instance, when a track changes, I get an email, a download completes, or someone messages me on Adium. It's a pain in the ass whenever the OS updates, but I find I can't live without it when I switch computers. I really depend on it!

Some of you may be familiar with this program from livestream sessions and such. It's actually a combination of programs that allows me to run a screen saver on my desktop. It makes it hard for me to read the folders on my desktop, so I mainly use it like this for movie night stuff.

That's the screen saver on it's own.

I could rant on and on, but I'll leave it at Sanzo and a bike for now. XD My favorite original art picture, and my favorite poster.
